Storage Spaces Direct Hyperconvergence in Windows Server 2016
As a founding Microsoft partner for Storage Spaces, RAID Inc. continues to design targeted Windows Server 2016 software-defined storage solutions, beyond only providing certified hardware, but architecting, validating and installing fully managed private and hybrid cloud solutions. — Because, your Software Defined Data Center is not an experiment.
Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct Webinar
The RAID Inc. and Microsoft S2D joint webinar offers more on Storage Spaces Direct deployments utilizing the benefits of NVMe flash for the Software Defined Data Center.
NVMe Fine-Tuning and Managing Storage Spaces Direct (S2D)
Demand for virtualization and storage continues to advance towards a cloud-consistent Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) architecture and Microsoft is unlocking the value of hyperconvergence with Windows Server 2016 and Storage Spaces Direct (S2D). Prominent architecture advancements to WS2016 Datacenter Edition include an Azure-inspired networking stack, Nano Server and Shielded VMs with storage enhancements; Storage replica, Storage QoS, and Storage Spaces Direct.
Windows Server 2016, Storage Spaces Direct (S2D)
Windows Server 2016 introduces the distributed file system design known as Storage Spaces Direct (S2D), which expands upon Storage Spaces Shared (WS2012 R2) to encompass support for both SATA / SAS drives, including high-performance NVMe flash devices, that reside internally in each server. Recognizing S2D is a vital cog to the Software Defined Data Center, a holistic approach is needed for success from design to implementation to management.
NVMe Storage Spaces Direct
Storage Spaces Direct delivers a significant impact on the hyperconvered SDDC environment. Learn best practices for high performance NVMe-tuning techniques as seen demonstrated in the Microsoft Ignite 2016 booth. In an effort to further prepare for the future of Cloud storage, tune-in for the discussion addressing how management and monitoring tools can translate directly into a model that scales into Azure Stack, and therefore Azure, to create a harmonious hybrid ecosystem that can scale and work together across on premise and cloud environments.
NVMe Hyperconverged S2D Appliance
The RAID Inc. Ability HCI Series is an Azure Stack inspired Storage Spaces Direct solution performance-tuned to include NVMe and SATA storage. The Ability HCI Series delivers maximum storage IOPS and throughput levels with the added benefit of lessening the cost of the infrastructure hardware.
By including a NVMe flash cache (Tier 0) the Ability HCI Series is purpose built to excel in running nearly all workload types, including Hyper-V virtualized and enterprise applications, SQL databases, Remote Desktop Services for virtualized desktops, Azure-ready hybrid clouds, and big data analytics, with improved efficiency and scalability.
