20TB HDDs Fully Qualified for Ability 84-Bay and 106-Bay EBODs Announced by RAID Inc.

LAWRENCE, MA – RAID Incorporated, a leader in designing and implementing customized high-performance storage solutions for HPC, big data, cloud, and software-defined data centers, today announced the qualification of 20TB HDD drives. The HDD drives can store over 1.7PB in a standard 5U depth rack and 2.1PB of raw storage capacity in a 4U deep rack, respectively.

Besides functioning as standalone external Direct Attached Storage (DAS) EBOD for standard serial attached SCSI (SAS) host connects, these solutions are a perfect expansion companion for other storage applications for software defined storage (SDS), object storage, high-density storage archiving, cloud backup, data replication and video streaming or surveillance.

“This latest generation of our Ability 5U 84-Bay and Ability 4U 106-Bay JBODs enables massive data capacity applications at a price/performance ratio that can meet fast-moving business requirements,” said Marc DiZoglio, General Manager of RAID Incorporated. “In order to solve the world’s largest and most complex problems in big data, analytics and data retention, capacity and performance for on-premises storage needs to continuously grow and evolve.
