Phoenix Solution

The Phoenix solution enables enterprise users to build
and manage a large, highly scalable pool of diverse storage systems.
The Phoenix enables enterprises to virtualize the storage pool into
custom volumes and assign those volumes to multiple servers using iSCSI.
The solution delivers open, reliable and highly scalable
iSCSI storage enabling users to expand storage, application servers
and FC SANs in large enterprises to small remote offices or secondary
servers and storage.
The Phoenix solution supports up to 8 FC ports and (3)
1Gbit iSCSI Ethernet ports, providing the largest number of storage
ports and the fastest internal bus available. It uses a real-time operating
system and high-end network processors to deliver high performance with
complete component and storage system redundancy.

Create custom storage volumes across all the
connected storage systems for optimal performance of applications,
maximum utilization of storage resources and cost effective service
growth. |
Tiered Storage |
Combine storage systems with diverse

Asynchronous and synchronous remote data replication,
snapshot and
cloning eliminate the possibility of data loss and ensure business
continuity. |
High Availability |
Active/Active clustering with automatic failover,
failback and multipathing
for fault tolerant access to data. |
Storage Security |
Access Control Lists and iSCSI login authentication
(CHAP, SRP) for complete
access control and protection of data. |
Simple and Centralized Management |
StorageWatch provides centralized management
with a web based GUI or
complete CLI. Secure CLI via SSH. |
Monitor Performance and Traffic
within the SAN |
Monitor traffic statistics on each storage and
network interface to increase
application performance. Monitor counters and generate reports
defined
by standard MIBs including TCP/ IP, FC and iSCSI interfaces. |
1 unit rack size and front
facing interfaces |
Compact size saves you precious rack space and
all network and storage
connections are on the front face. Adjustable rack supports fit
racks up to
39'' in depth. |

StorageWatch GUI
RAID enables the economical creation of large
storage pools by consolidating and managing multiple enclosures across
your Storage Area Network (SAN) as a single storage system.
Meeting the high capacity storage requirements needed
to handle large amounts of data can be prohibitively expensive. High
Fibre Channel connectivity costs, vendor lock-in and the inability to
utilize storage resources across enclosures drive up the cost and complexity
of creating large storage pools.
Storage Consolidation
The Phoenix solution lets you transform basic storage
systems into fully available high capacity storage pools to effectively
store and network large amounts of data:
-
Enables the creation of large storage pools by consolidating
and managing storage resources across enclosures, customizing volumes
for precise storage provisioning.
-
Advanced traffic management boosts block-based read/write
speeds to storage.Phoenix load balancing allows data to be read across
mirrored copies accelerating data retrieval for fast response times.
-
Allows complete vendor freedom for the addition of
any IP storage system, including inexpensive commodity storage, cutting
the cost of adding a TB of data by 75%.
-
Mirrors and replicates all stored data for failover
service, extending RAID capabilities from the network to guarantee
complete business continuity.
Fibre Channel SAN Expansion
The high cost of sharing storage over Fibre Channel networks,
extends the advantages of networked storage to only a subset of select
applications. The inherent nature of the FC protocol limits remote users
and interdepartmental access to central FC-SAN resources.
The Phoenix solution combines standard iSCSI-based IP
connectivity with network-based volume management, to extend your FC-SAN
by economically adding servers and enabling remote access to central
SANs:
-
Cuts the cost of adding new servers by 90% letting
you extend existing FC-SANs at a fraction of the cost.
-
Enables cost-effective and scaleable connection of
servers to FC storage, affording remote user and interdepartmental
access to FC-SAN resources, without requiring FC tunneling.
-
Network-based storage management services enable simple
volume creation across extended FC-SANs. By provisioning large LUNs
from the existing FC-SAN and creating smaller volumes for departmental
storage, the Phoenix greatly reduces IT overhead.
- The Phoenix IP-SAN is completely interoperable with leading networked
storage systems allowing you to reuse your existing IT infrastructure
for full investment protection.
Data Replication and Recovery
The Phoenix Global Data Replication solution (GDR) introduces network
based remote data replication over any IP LAN, MAN or WAN providing immediate
access to most updated data in remote locations for immediate recovery
from disasters.
Data Replication over IP |
Replicate data to another site natively
over IP for remote backup and disaster recovery. |
Synchronous Replication |
Maintain exact duplicates of live data between
two locations to ensure full data recovery and achieve zero RPO
(Recovery Point Objective). |
Asynchronous Replication |
Replicate data changes across any bandwidth to
the remote site to eliminate the cost associated with high speed
connections. |
Back to Back Replication |
Replicate data between two production sites so
each site can recover from the other. |
Many to One Replication |
Replicate multiple satellite offices to a single
central data center. |
Guided Failover and Failback processes |
Wizard-based management guides users in failover
and failback processes to minimize RTO (Recovery Time Objective). |
Planned Failover and Failback |
Minimize service interruption time during site
migration or full site maintenance for 24/7 business continuity. |
Use any Type of Disk Storage |
Storage systems used at the primary site and remote
site do not need to be the same brand or type. Select the storage
type that best fits your requirements (FC or SCSI systems using
FC,SCSI,SATA or ATA drives). |
Server and Operating System
Independent |
Replication is provided by the V-Switch through
the entire network – no need to purchase data replication
software or licenses for each server. |
Low Maintenance Cost |
Allow unlimited number of volumes, servers and
storage, with no additional cost, to provide significant return
on investment. |
Volume Specific |
Select only the volumes you wish to protect to
conserve bandwidth costs and efficiently utilize storage capacity. |
Build Volume Consistency Groups |
Consistency groups ensure that related volumes
are replicated at the same time to maintain data flow integrity
for databases and other multiple volume applications. |
Central Management |
Administer multi-site global data replication
and recovery from a single interface. |
