RAID Announces Qualification of their SATA-2 Storage Solutions by Canopus for EDIUS HDRelease Date: July 8, 2005 Lawrence MA—RAID Incorporated, a Massachusetts-based storage platform developer and managed storage services company, announced that their Serial ATA-2 based solutions has been officially qualified by Canopus Corporation for use with EDIUS HD, Canopus' s acclaimed high definition non-linear video editing solution. EDIUS HD is the most powerful solution in Canopus' s non-linear video editing arsenal, giving editors real-time, mixed format HD / SD editing, and real-time compositing, chromakeying, titling and monitoring. Featuring unrivaled video transcoding technology, EDIUS HD performs conversion between different HD and SD resolutions, aspect ratios and frame rates, all in real-time. “Qualifying our storage systems and partnering with Canopus is another important step as RAID continues to work closely with leading edge application and solution providers. With sequential reads in RAID 5 of 400mbs/sec and writes of 380mbs/sec, RAID's SATA-2 based storage systems include 8, 12 and 16-Bay configurations with Ultra320 SCSI support or 2-Gigabit Fibre Channel interfaces which support 12 and 15 bay configurations. All RAID SATA-2 products offer simple field replacement and hot-swap ability for all removable components including; RAID controllers, drive carriers, power supplies, and cooling modules. “The performance of the RAID unit was impressive.
