RAID Incorporated™ Announces 1TB General Availability for ORION
and Magellan Class Storage Systems

Methuen, MA - RAID Incorporated™
today announced the qualification of 1TB Enterprise Edition RAID disk
drives for their ORION and Magellan
class of storage products. The increased capacity point now allows for
Magellan systems to scale to up to 60TB per controller pair – ideal
for data warehousing, and when combined with SAS drives, perfect for intense
I/O applications within the same storage system.
ORION systems which come in configurations of 8, 12 and 15 drive bays
are perfect for select applications, and will support up to 15TB respectably
of unformatted disk space. This product is geared towards select applications,
including disk-to-disk backup, replication, general file storage and specific
applications which were designed for specific OEM customers.
“The capacity increase is important to decrease the overall footprint
that we are providing to our customers,” stated Steve Campagnone,

where capacity and footprint size have been a challenge in the past, especially
with some of our OEM accounts.”
