Channel RAID Head. This tiered solution has the best in class performance
in the industry.
The X48 features (12) 4Gb Fibre Channel bandwidth, making it ideal for
SAN and direct attached storage initiatives. The system provides superior
performance and redundancy with dual loop technology. Complete with a
backplane-based enclosure with redundant, hot swappable component pairs,
the X48 ensures continuous support of massive application performance
in a true end-to-end Fibre Channel solution for primary storage and cost-effective
SATA-2 for secondary data requirements.
“For clients pushing the limits of high performance computing,
the X48 offers impressive speed and dependability,” stated Bob Picardi,
Chief Operating Officer at RAID Incorporated. “Today for those organizations
facing the demands of high performance computing, database applications,
video streaming, data center applications, and e-commerce, they now have
a highly reliable solution.”
Additional features and benefits of the X48:
• StorageWatch® capable: The X48 is compatible
with RAID Inc’s. StorageWatch management
software, a powerful tool for reducing infrastructure TCO and operating
costs of today’s data assets.
• Infiniband Networking: RAID Inc. has qualified
several director-class InfiniBand-based switches that provide a virtual
gateway for environments demanding extreme performance. This provides
users with a low latency, multi-protocol interconnect fabric that supports
cluster inter-process communication, shared storage, and networking I/O
access.
• High availability: With redundant, hot swappable
FRUs, subsystem self-diagnostics, battery backup units, and UPS status
detection, the X48 ensures continuous availability.
• Scalability/flexibility: The X48 was designed
to support both DAS and SAN configurations and to be interoperable with
all standard FC4 or FC2 host and switch interfaces. In addition, the X48
control head supports up to (12) 4Gb FC4 ports, eliminating the need for
a 4Gb Fibre Channel switch. This interoperability ensures that all standard
host cards and switches work seamlessly with the system.
