RAID Incorporated and ATTO Technology Join Forces to Showcase AV Solutions at NABRelease Date: April 12, 2005 Lawrence, MA – RAID Incorporated will showcase their next generation high definition AV storage solution at the upcoming NAB Tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada, April 17-21, 2005, utilizing ATTO’s next generation 2Gbit Fibre-channel and Ultra-320 SCSI host bus adapters. RAID will be showcasing a complete HD edit solution using their 16-Bay SATA-2 storage system called the Falcon II. RAID will demonstrate dual-stream 1080i uncompressed non-linear editing powered by ATTO’s ExpressPCI UL4D, an Ultra320 Dual Channel HBA, as well as the ATTO Celerity FC-21PS, a single channel 2-Gigabit Fibre Channel Storage Adaptor. The demonstration will present High Definition footage editing using Final Cut Pro on a Mac G5 with Black-Magic Design’s HD Link Pro card. “ATTO’s products are the nuts and bolts of this complete working AV storage solution,” stated Jad Ramey, AV Sales Manager at RAID Inc. “We are thrilled with the opportunity to partner with ATTO and offer a complete working solution,” stated Ramey. RAID's Falcon II series of SATA 2 storage systems were designed for high-performance disk-to-disk backup, video on demand, CCTV, streaming editing and server based applications. The Falcon II series is available in a 3U 16 bay solution which can be scaled to 6.4TB. The Falcon II features a robust architecture that combines affordable, high-capacity SATA-2 drive technology with 2Gb Fibre-Channel or Ultra-320 SCSI host interface options. RAID, Inc.'s Falcon II utilizes the latest advances in SATA-2 disk technology including NCQ (Native Command Queuing). The performance is unprecedented with sustained throughput of over 380mbs/sec on Writes and 400mbs/sec on Reads. “By bundling the ATTO Ultra 320 dual channel host adapter and Celerity 2-Gigabit storage adapter with the Falcon II solution, users will get enhanced data throughput, which is critical for digital content creation environments," said Sherri Robinson, Director of Markets for ATTO. "ATTO host adapters are an ideal fit for connecting the Falcon II RAID because they enhance the performance of bandwidth-intensive environments such as uncompressed video editing. The exclusive Advanced Data Streaming (ADS™) Technology found in ATTO Fibre Channel adapters provides faster and more efficient transfer of data between critical applications and high-performance storage arrays such as the Falcon II."
