Falcon III - 4Gb Fibre Channel to SATA-2 48-bay Design

Compact 48-bay Design with Expandability RAID Inc. is pleased to announce the newest addition to its Falcon line of products. Housing 48 SATA-2 drives in 4U of rack space, the Falcon III can store 48TB of data in a single unit. The dual controller solution has the ability to expand an additional 48 drives with a companion 4U JBOD which would allow users to posses 96TB in 8U of total space. Availablity and Flexibility The Falcon III combines 4Gb Fibre Channel (FC) RAID connectivity with Serial ATA-2 (SATA-2) disk drives, and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) expansion technology, offering affordable RAID data storage and high performance capabilities. Falcon III provides the bandwidth needed for disk-to-disk backup, archiving and other storage-intensive applications, while leveraging SAS full duplex, point-to-point architecture with dedicated connections for maximum data throughput. There is also no single point of failure, with two RAID controllers per chassis and host-based dynamic multipathing to maintain continuous access to application data.		Datasheet

The Falcon III has the lowest power consumption (50 percent more TB per KW), and highest density (33 percent more TB per sq. ft.) of any nearline storage RAID system on the market

Manage Storage and Recovery

RAID Inc’s StorageWatch management software makes it simple to configure and administer the Falcon III storage system. Automated control of individual controller’s cache, arrays and devices via a web-based interface simplifies storage administration, while the full-function Command Line Interface (CLI) allows integration of array management into existing operational procedures.
