Disk based storage solutions allow the CCTV video to be captured and transmitted digitally. This provides high-performance, on-line storage of audio and video in much higher resolutions and eliminates quality loss when transmitting footage over long distances, a symptom of analogue storage environments.

CCTV Surveillance Implementation

For an entry level solution, deploy up to 32 cameras feeding streams into DVR recorders, which in turn feed into the storage network consisting of an SATA RAID Storage System. A tape backup unit can also be easily included for additional archiving. RAID's storage can easily scale to multi-terabytes per subsystem. Increased capacity can be deployed by adding expansion enclosures.its

The RAID-based solution provides storage growth on demand and the ability to scale that storage to multi-terabytes, allowing security administrators to easily allocate additional storage on-demand to a recording server as needed.

By enabling the use of low-cost mass storage devices such as SATA for high quality images, long-term storage becomes more affordable and the ability to store and access high quality images for longer periods of time allows critical video footage to be available in the event it is needed in a highly cost-effective manner.
